A picture perfect moment, a golden opportunity and Turkey Day once again with familiar company. Let’s look back at the month that was in the latest Reflections and Expectations.
Photo shoot, Nov. 7 – I took part in a photo shoot around San Francisco’s Design District. With the help of photographer Michelle Tsang, I got my long overdue refresh of headshots as it has been five years since my last set.
The photos turned out to be absolutely fantastic. Michelle did such a wonderful job in this effort on every level imaginable. These pictures were fantastic enough in quality that I still can’t stop looking at my own pictures. It’s that damn good.
Levi’s Stadium tour, Nov. 19 – I visited Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara for a guided tour with members of Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) San Francisco group. Home to the San Francisco 49ers NFL team, this stadium will host Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7, 2016.
Our tour and a panel discussion at a restaurant across from the stadium following the tour focused on the transportation issues surrounding this upcoming major event. The day’s event brought together transportation leaders from across the Bay Area to discuss how agencies are contributing to this regionwide effort to accommodate transit and air travel needs of visitors during the weekend. I’m still looking to see if and how I can help out on the big day.
Thanksgiving – What a difference a year makes. Around this time last year, my life circumstances were different in that I wasn’t able to make plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now that my life and career are back on track, I was finally able to spend Thanksgiving with my family in San Diego once again. It’s always great to spend time with each one of them, meaning a lot to me at every opportunity. A return to normalcy never felt better.
- Christmas holiday – I’m definitely all set to make it down there for Christmas. Still, the Chinese buffet on Winchester in San Jose deserves a revisit…on a different holiday, of course.
- New Year’s Eve – I’ll probably stay home to see if Kathy Griffin does or says something hilariously stupid with Anderson Cooper on CNN. I still can’t stop laughing over their “bit” on New Year’s Eve 2012 / New Year’s Day 2013. Google it.
