The Importance of Being Thankful

It’s Thanksgiving season, a time when we all reflect back on everything we should be thankful for in life.

Some are thankful for their family and friends while others are thankful for the opportunities and privileges they might have such as jobs.

It’s important to take this time to think about all of the people and things you appreciate. Return the favor by letting your family, friends, coworkers and others know how you really feel and tell them how grateful you are for having them in your life.

This year has certainly been an extraordinary year for me as many new opportunities came my way, giving me more things to be thankful for than ever before.

I’m certainly thankful for being part of Cal State Fullerton PRSSA for putting me in an important leadership position as well as allowing me the opportunity to work with and become friends with some of the greatest people I know.

I’m also thankful for being part of OCTA as an intern. I work with some of the best and the brightest professionals at the agency who work diligently every day to help keep Orange County moving.

Let’s not forget all of the new friends I made that hail from places all across the nation during PRSSA National Conference in Washington, D.C. last month. It was so amazing to meet fellow students who are so talented and passionate about public relations. More importantly though, I love listening to the accents some of them have, especially the Southerners!

There are many more great things that I am thankful for but I really wanted to highlight the few I just mentioned. Being involved in these institutions helped changed my life for the better, making me feel more hopeful and confident about myself.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
